MOPS – MOTHERS OF PRESCHOOLERS

We believe that supporting families, which includes parents, is a valuable aspect of our ministry.  MOPS is our ministry for moms of infants-preschoolers and pregnant moms-to-be.  Our goal is to meet the needs of moms – stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single, and married moms – and helping them build a community of encouragement, support, and advice.  It’s all about bringing moms together.  The early years of motherhood are just as foundational to you as they are to your little one, and they’re filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand.

Who We Are  |  What We Do

Our group meets twice a month on the 1^st and 3^rd Tuesdays of each month. We meet from 9:30-11:30am at PCC. While our moms are meeting in our PCC Coffeehouse, we have a special MOPPETS program for our 3, 4, & 5 year olds and nursery care for our infants and toddlers.

Each time we gather for a time to share with one another, spend time praying for each other, discuss our book reading, and sometimes watch a coordinating DVD. Frequently we have guest speakers who share with us a specific, relevant topic to mothering.

Throughout the year we also have special outings together for moms and kids, such as Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch, Pretend City, and Strawberry Tours.

Schedule and fees*  |  2010-2011

Registration fee is $25, in addition to the session fees:

Session 1 (September 21^st-December 21^st): $35

Session 2 (January 4^th-March 15^th): $30

Session 3 (April 5^th – June 7^th): $25

This Year  |  MOMOLOGY

This year, we will be reading through the book, MOMOLOGY: A Mom’s Guide to Shaping Great Kids. This book is designed to help you be the unique mother God created you to be. Written by Shelly Radic, a mother of four and 20 year MOPS participant, this book compiles more than thirty years of research-based ministry at MOPS international to help you, the mom, because better moms make a better world.

MOPPETS   |  3, 4, & 5 year olds

While our moms meet for MOPS, our MOPPETS program is specially designed to enrich and encourage our preschool age children. Each lesson includes simple Bible stories, songs, prayer, craft, games, and snack time.

Basic Schedule:

9:30-9:45 Interactive Play (play-doh, coloring)

9:45-10:00 Song Time

10:00-10:10 Bible Story Time and Memory Verse

10:10-10:25 Inside Play Time

10:25-10:35 Group Play Time

10:35-10:45 Craft Time

10:45-11:00 Snack Time

11:00-11:30 Outside Play Time

Nursery Care   |  infants and toddlers

Our infants to two year olds are invited into our Nursery, where loving childcare volunteers will care for them.  We provide a variety of fun toys, music, and playtime for the littlest ones to enjoy. This provides a loving and safe environment for children to play and make new friends.
